Hello Chamber Members, this is not your ordinary "Presidents Message." I am Russ’s wife, Deanna. I guess that would make me "The First Lady of the Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce"

We hear a lot from our two girls, “Dad, do you have a Chamber Event to go to tonight? Can we come?!” The girls and I have gone a few times. It has been very enjoyable and a lot of fun. Now his term is about over. When you have fun, time goes quickly.

The girls enjoyed having their Dad come to their classes for the Great American Teach In and teach the class about the Chamber of Commerce. They were all business owners and had to talk about their “business.” The ones that were not Chamber Members quickly “joined the Chamber.” That Russ, always getting people to network. As he says, “If you're not networking, you are not working.”

I think what he enjoyed most about being the President was hearing testimonials from Chamber Members on how joining the Chamber helped their business grow. He also enjoyed meeting new people, building relationships and friendships. You don’t have to be the President to do that.

Whether he admits it or not, he will miss being the President of the Chamber. You will still see him at the lunches, networking events and Chamber socials, you might see me there too. Good luck to the incoming President Kathie Miley of BankAtlantic, she has some big shoes to fill.
